Our Mission

To foster the natural beauty and habitats of the Rudee Inlet/Owls Creek watershed through partnerships in order to create a healthy and sustainable ecosystem.

The Rudee Inlet Foundation is a citizen’s group composed of community members dedicated to the stewardship of the Rudee Inlet/Owls Creek watershed. In the last five years, the organization has been active in the watershed conducting activities such as cleanups and installing storm drain markers. In partnership with the Virginia Aquarium, the Rudee Inlet Foundation funded the installation of the very first sanctuary oyster reef in the summer of 2015. The Owls Creek Oyster Reef is the first of many planned initiatives that will support improved water quality and wildlife habitats in the watershed.
